Liturgy Planning Session
Thank you for your acceptance of our invitation to attend the Liturgy Planning
Session for your upcoming wedding at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed
Sacrament. The ceremony is the most important element of your wedding day -
without it you won't be married. So it's only fitting that you spend a few hours with
us to plan it.
What can you expect from the planning session?
At your planning session, we'll cover all elements of your Catholic Nuptial Rite.
You'll be able to spend time in the Cathedral to decide on logistics. You'll be able
to hear the musical selections live in the Cathedral. We'll also discuss logistics of
the ceremony, timing of the ceremony, and other elements. Upon completion of
the session, you'll have selected all of your music, readings, prayers, and other
elements of the ceremony.
Do I need to bring anything with me to the session?
Yes - we need you to complete a few forms to aid in the planning of your ceremony.
See forms below. You will need to fill out one of the two planning forms and the
vendor list. Please fully complete both of these forms and bring them with you to
your planning session.
What about the readings and prayers?
In the next few days you will receive a book in the mail entitled Together for Life.
Please take some time together to read through this book. Mark your preferred
selection for every section in the book. Don't skip any selections-they're all
important! Bring this book, with your marked selections, to the session with you.
We have not scheduled our rehearsal yet. When can we do this?
You can schedule your rehearsal at the planning session. Please give some
thought to when you'd like it to be. We offer rehearsals on Thursdays and Fridays
at 6 PM and 7 PM. They typically last no longer than 1 hour.
We are set to meet with Fr. Mike again soon. Can we do this the same day?
Any meetings with Fr. Mike need to be scheduled directly with him. You may
contact him at lefevre.mike@aod.org.
One of my bridesmaids would like to attend the session with me. Is that okay?
We ask that only the bride and groom attend this session. Unless you've made
other arrangements with me in advance to attend the session with someone other
than your fiance, we ask that you please do not bring additional people (i.e.
bridesmaids, mothers, hired wedding coordinators, etc.) with you to the session.
We have a lot of information to cover in a short amount of time, so we need to be as
focused as possible. This is a special time and process for you and your fiance to
share with one another.
